What are some of the changes you are looking to make in 2012?
I am certainly working on letting go of some old beliefs and attitudes that no longer serve me.
One great way to get you started and re-program your sub-concious mind is by having a mantra that you repeat to yourself on a daily basis. The more often the better.
Be sure to make your mantra in the positive and present tense. I will share mine with you as an example:

“Every day in every way I receive abundance, health, wealth, love, joy and happiness.”

If you are choosing to let go of weight (not lose weight, because the sub-conscious mind doesn’t like to lose things) your mantra could be something like:

“I am slim, trim, firm at fight at my ideal of …pounds”.

Please share your mantras with me. Would love to read them.

Absolutely Love this Quote. I think it is great to be reminded.

“The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered, ‘Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived,’”

The Neuroscience of Why Gratitude Makes Us Healthier

November 5, 2011 in Business, Hypnosis, Law of Attraction, NLP

One of the exercise I have most of my clients undergo is to keep a gratitude journal. Each day they are instructed to write down all the things they are grateful for in their lives. Once they can’t think of anything, I instruct them to write down the the things they are grateful for, but don’t have yet. I have them write those down in the positive and in the present tense, as if they had then already. Our sub-conscious mind only knows and lives in the present, and does move into the direction of our most dominant thoughts.  I think we have all been hearing about the law of attraction lately, haven’t we.

Today I came across this great article by Ocean Robbins talking about the Neuroscience of Gratitude. He also talks about studies done on gratitude. I think it is really interesting. To read the article CLICK HERE.

Neuro Linguistic Programming – What is NLP?

The core of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), is encompassed in the NLP definition:
A study of excellence and a model of how individuals structure their experience.

Neuro Linguistic Programming was originated by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the mid 1970’s. They modelled therapists and communication experts of the time like Dr Milton Erickson (renowned Hypnotherapist), Virginia Satir (renowned Family Therapist) and Fritz Perls (Founder of Gestalt Therapy). Their goal was to discover ‘excellence’ in their techniques; finding the differences that made the difference for the client. The outcome of these early studies were a series of tools and processes that enables quick and lasting resourceful change in clients.

NLP focuses upon the detail of how we communicate (externally and internally), how we process, store and recall this communication, and how we can change and empower this communication to achieve the results and goals we want.

The Presuppositions of NLP form a foundation and common understanding between the Coach and the Client to create the environment, expectation, and intention to achieve the desired outcomes. Read the rest of this entry →

How NLP has helped this business. CNN article

September 30, 2011 in Business, NLP

Read this article on cnn about how one small bank keeps it’s staff among the happiest in Europe utilizing NLP Neuro linguistic programming.

(CNN) — For nearly a decade, a Danish bank has been recognized by the Great Place to Work Institute as one of the best small to medium sized companies to work for in Europe. Situated near the quiet coastline on the island of Fyn, Middelfart Sparekasse has an unusual approach to people management that experts say is worth noting.

Coaching, self-directed leadership and personal growth are not usually words associated with financial institutions, but to this bank’s 200 or so employees they are key, and the business operates under the assumption that everyone comes to work wanting to do their best, virtually eliminating the need for any oversight.

Changing your words can change your life!

August 31, 2011 in NLP, Public Speaking

You may have heard the phrase “change your thinking – change your life”. I do believe this phrase is very valuable, however it doesn’t tell us enough. Let’s take it one step further, by examining how we compose our thoughts, so that we can change them. We make up our thought with pictures, sounds (language) and feelings.
Today I would like to examine your LANGUAGE. If we compose our thoughts with words, we MUST change our vocabular and the words we use on a daily basis. The following phrases are phases all of us use on a daily basis:

  • I have to …
  • I need to …
  • I should …

These phrases communicate to the subconscious mind that we do not have choices, which in turn can cause you to experience stress. Who wants that? I certainly don’t, and I am sure neither to you. My challenge to you is to eliminate the above words and replace them with on of the following choices:

  • I choose to …
  • I will …
  • It is my choice to …
  • If I really wanted to I could …

All of these phrases presuppose that YOU have choices and that you are in charge of your mind, therefore will have a much more positive effect on your nervous system.

Try this for the next few days and notice how you feel. I would love to hear from you and how that is helping you in your life.

NLP Practitioner Training

NLP Practitioner Training – Starts November 5, 2011

Imagine your brain like the most powerful computer available. It comes with many amazing programs and you continuously acquire more each and every day of our life. Now imaging this computer being without a firewall or virus protection software. I think we all have had computer malfunctions before and we know how bad things can get.

Throughout our lives all of our computers (our brains) have been infected with viruses, also known as negative beliefs, less than positive thought patterns, and bad habits. Perhaps you, have tried over and over – without luck – to get rid of them. Until NOW!

Neuro-Linquistic Programming (NLP) is often referred to as “The Users Manual for Your Brain”. It is the study of the structure of subjective experience. How we interpret life and our experiences, how we give meaning to what happens to us and how that effects us on a neurological and emotional level, but also how we behave and react based on that.
